Route to the final boss

The final route is in Extinction's Edge, after the late-game meteor sequence. Steam's hidden I AM the Meteor achievement is tied to destroying the meteor, while current complete runs place Maakyuurii after that progression gate.

What is verified about the fight

The official patch history confirms several final-boss details:

• July 27: a small final-boss balance change.
• July 27: an adjustment to the Final Boss Ice Roar hitbox.
• July 30: general final-boss hitbox cleanup.

Those first-party notes confirm Ice Roar as a real mechanic and show that hitboxes changed during launch week. They do not provide complete damage values or a full official move list, so this guide avoids inventing one.

Practical preparation

1. Install the latest patch. Launch-week updates directly changed this fight's balance and hitboxes.
2. Enter with a stable parry rhythm. The final encounter is not the place to replace observation with repeated block inputs.
3. Keep stamina in reserve. Preserve enough resource to answer the next sequence rather than finishing every possible combo.
4. Spend Boss SP before the route lock. Upgrade the Soul Arts you already use consistently; do not switch to an unfamiliar setup only for the final fight.
5. Treat the phase transition as a reset. Re-center the camera, verify spacing and read the new rhythm before committing to long attacks.

What happens after Maakyuurii?

The official Steam page states that defeating the final boss unlocks Boss Rush Mode. Steam also includes FEEDING THE BLADE, an achievement for beating Boss Rush.
